U-Save Foundation is Giving 1600 Underserved School Girls a Chance ❤
The U-Save Foundation recently organized a successful free workshop on crowdfunding for reusable menstrual kits last Wednesday. More than 20 individuals, including volunteers and relevant stakeholders, attended the workshop with the aim of equipping participants with knowledge, skills, and firsthand experience of our programs.
The fundraising workshop was led by our Communications Manager (Dede Israel) and our Volunteer Lead (Panasung Urbanus) who enriched the workshop with their contribution.
Equal Access And Dignity For 1600 Girls In Bwari LGA
The U-Save Foundation is currently crowdfunding to provide menstrual kits to girls in underserved communities in Nigeria. This campaign aligns with several Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), including SDG 3 (Good health and well-being), SDG 6 (Clean water and sanitation), and SDG 10 (Reduced inequalities).
Equal access to menstrual hygiene is crucial for the health, education, and well-being of all girls and women. Shockingly, a UNICEF study revealed that 1 in 10 girls in Nigeria lacks access to menstrual pads, causing them to miss school during their menstrual periods.
The crowdfunding campaign was launched in June 2023, the campaign has reached 10% of its target goal of N4,000,000.
We kindly request your support in helping us reach our goal and provide menstrual kits to these girls.
Each reusable menstrual hygiene kit costs #2,500, and we aim to distribute a total of 1,600 kits, amounting to #4,000,000. The target community for this campaign is Bwari LGA in Abuja, Nigeria.

U-Save project coordinator attended the National WASH in Emergency Technical Working Group meeting.
Summary of meeting:
The meeting discussed flood update in the country and Cholera cases in Nigeria.
Cross River state has the highest number of Cholera cases with about 718 cases recorded in the past few months which accounts for 39% of the general cases in the country.
States are encouraged to deploy WASH approach to mitigate the level of Cholera in their various states.
It is critical for all stakeholders to get involved in WASH funding, advocacy, educating our immediate community and implementation in order to mitigate the effect of poor drinking water.
U-Save is committed to improve and save lives through awareness, advocacy, education and implementation of projects.
